How to create a will with Make a Will Online

Completing a will is relatively straightforward with Make a Will Online and the process can take as little as 10-15 minutes. There are three steps to completing a will and we explain each of the steps below.

Step 1 - Answer some online questions

You'll need to answer a number of questions starting with your personal details including your name, address and email address. Next, you'll be asked whether you have any children under the age of 18 and whether you want to appoint any guardians. Next, you'll need to confirm the beneficiaries of your estate, as well as what might happen should they die before you. You can then choose any specific gifts that you wish to make from your estate and this can include anything such as possessions, money, property, land and proceeds from insurance. Finally, you'll be asked to choose your executors and provide your funeral wishes.

Step 2 - Review and pay

The next stage is to carefully check each section of your will. You can easily make changes by clicking the edit button in each of the sections as you work your way through the will. Next, you'll be asked whether you want to create another will - making a pair of wills - for an additional £30. Next, you'll need to choose whether you want the option to make lifetime updates for £10 per year and whether or not you want your will sent in the post for £15. Finally, you'll need to confirm and pay for your will.

Step 3 - Solicitor check and receive your will (online or via post)

Make a Will Online takes care of the final step, ensuring your will is checked by a qualified solicitor and notifying you when it is ready to be printed. If you elected to receive your will via post then it will be posted as soon as the solicitor check is complete.
