Happy Birthday! Money to the Masses is 1 today!

Time flies when you are having fun!

I can’t believe an entire year has passed since I launched Money to the Masses. During that time I’ve spent hours a night writing the site, often working into the small hours while drinking the umpteenth cup of coffee. Believe me, combine writing this site with having a career and a newborn baby I’d be lying if I said there hadn’t been times when I thought ‘why am I doing this’? (And that’s before I think about how much it costs to keep the site running).

Why am I doing this?

But then I look at the hundreds of people following the site via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and my newsletter and that spurs me on. Couple that with the questions I regularly answer and the readers’ emails I receive and I can see that people value what I’m doing.

As it says on my ‘about page’ the site was born out of both my passion for personal finance and my frustration with the lack of qualified expert opinion available for free online. I am not a journalist, self publicist, or consumer champion. While during the day my financial expertise and knowledge is employed by High Net Worth individuals in the City of London I try to help the masses with their finances the rest of my time.

This is because I sincerely believe no matter how much you earn your finances are just as important as the next person’s. People who, like me, have a mortgage to pay, a family to support and face a world of financial turmoil. The aim of Money to the Masses is simple – To provide FREE expert advice and financial insights to everyone regardless of how much money they have or who they are!

Money to the Masses has come a long way

In just a year the site has gone from a blog with no readers to a site with hundreds of article and thousands of readers. Over the year there have been numerous changes made to the site which include:

  • A brand new site.
  • A mobile phone site as well as an iphone optimised version.
  • Social media – the site content as well as other unique content can be accessed via Facebook, LinkedIn and twitter.
  • I now publish a regular free fortnightly newsletter.
  • Guides – I am building a library of guides which are accessible only to my newsletter subscribers.
  • Regular features such as Lunchtime money makeovers (fixing your finances in a lunch hour.), Monthly interest rate predictions, 120+ Money Tips, Readers’ questions….. the list goes on.

Where next for Money to the Masses?

The aim over the next year is simple – to keep growing and to help more people to take control of their finances with as little effort on their part as possible. I believe in what I’m doing so unless you say otherwise I’m not changing a thing.

I need your help

But please help spread the word of what I am doing. Recommend the site to as many people as possible. It will take you a second to make a recommendation but by spreading the word you are not only helping me to help others but also giving me a nod of appreciation for what I am doing.

Thanks for following me over the last year. Here’s to the future!
