Barclays launches current account switch offerBarclays has launched a current account switch offer worth £200 for customers who start a new switch by 28th May 2026. The offer is open to new customers who switch via the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) to a Barclays Bank Account, though joint accounts are not eligible.

Unlike with previous Barclays switch offers, customers do not need to sign up to the bank's Blue Rewards scheme and pay the £5 per month fee in order to get the £200. The account switched to Barclays must include 2+ direct debits and the £200 is paid within 45 working days of the criteria being met.

Who is eligible for the £200 switch offer?

Barclays' eligibility criteria is similar to many switching offers on the market. It is worth making sure you meet all the requirements to ensure you receive your bonus and avoid disappointment.

To be eligible for the £200 switch offer you must:

  • Be 18 or above and a UK resident
  • Be eligible for the Barclays Bank Account
  • Not have an existing Barclays current account (opened before 10th March 2026)
  • Not have received a Barclays switching offer reward before

How to qualify for the £200 Barclays offer

Assuming you're eligible to receive the bonus, qualifying for the offer is fairly straightforward. You need to:

  • Open your new sole account (joint accounts aren't eligible) via the Barclays app
  • Start your switch (using CASS) via the Barclays app from an account with 2+ active direct debits
  • Ensure you're not switching from an existing Barclays account (it must be a different bank)
  • Complete the full current account switch within 30 days of requesting it
  • Pay in at least £2,000 within 30 days of opening the account

The £200 is paid within 45 working days of this criteria being met.
