Who is Privilege insurance
Privilege is part of the Direct Line Insurance Group which also owns the Churchill insurance brand. Unlike the other Direct Line brands, Privilege policies do appear on comparison sites.
Privilege car insurance policies
Privilege car insurance offers four car insurance policy types and they are:
Third Party Fire and Theft
A Third Party Fire and Theft car insurance policy will cover the policyholder for damage to another person’s car or property caused while driving your car. Any injury to a third party caused by an accident will also be covered as will your own car if it is damaged by fire or stolen
In addition to the cover offered under Third Party Fire and Theft policy, the Comprehensive car insurance policy covers damage to your own car and offers a level of personal accident cover.
This policy is similar to the cover offered under the Comprehensive car insurance policy but with higher limits and some added extras, these are clarified later in this article.
DriveXpert is an insurance policy aimed at younger drivers using telematics to monitor driving habits. Policyholders will get an upfront discount and safe drivers could save money on their insurance renewal.
It all works using the DriveXpert app on your smartphone. The easy to use telemetrics plug-in monitors a range of environmental and behavioural factors to work out how safe a driver you are. It then assigns you a driving score.
This driving score will be used when calculating your renewal premiums.

Privilege car insurance reviews
Privilege is rated 4.0 out of 5.0 on independent review site Trustpilot, with reviews citing the young driver policy 'Drivexpert' as a great feature together with the excellent policy benefits offered as standard.
Privilege was rated at 68% in the best and worst car insurance customer survey conducted by the consumer website Which?
Privilege car insurance is part of the same group that owns Direct Line and Churchill car insurance, however, it is the only car insurance provider of the three that appear on comparison sites such as MoneySuperMarket. It is relatively well-reviewed online and may be a good option for younger drivers or those that are looking for additional policy features included in the policy as standard.
