AXA life insurance review

Who is AXA?

AXA life insurance UK was part of the AXA Group, a multinational company that provides a number of general and specialist insurance products including car insurance, business insurance and health insurance.

Can I still buy an AXA life insurance policy in the UK?

While AXA Group continues to provide life insurance for individuals in many countries around the world, AXA life insurance UK no longer provides individual life insurance policies in the UK.

In 1997, AXA Group acquired Sun Life Assurance but in 2011, Friends Life Group acquired AXA's UK life insurance business. In 2015, Aviva acquired Friends Life meaning any historical AXA life insurance policies are now likely to be administered by Aviva.

AXA Group does however provide group life insurance solutions for small, medium and large businesses. You can read more about this type of life insurance in our article, "A guide to group life insurance".

How to search for the best life insurance provider

If you are searching for a reputable, trustworthy and competitively priced life insurance product provider, you have a number to choose from including, Legal & General, Guardian 1821, Aviva, AIG, Royal London and LV=.

You'll find detailed information about the best life insurance providers in our article, "Compare the best life insurance providers in the UK"

You can buy life insurance directly from most life insurance companies but the price that you get by going direct may not be the cheapest you'll find, especially when compared to the quoted price through a specialist life insurance broker. It can also be difficult to compare the different types of cover by going directly to a specific life insurance company.

Most life insurance companies do not provide advice and each insurance company works within its own set of guidelines. This means that one may be better priced than another or potentially offer better terms based on your health history, occupation and lifestyle.

At Money to the Masses we have researched many ways of buying life insurance and have found that speaking to a specialist* provides the best way to buy life insurance. You'll be given a tailored quote based on your own personal circumstances and you'll get to select the best quote from every life insurance provider in the market. The service is free and there is no obligation to take things further. You'll also receive up to £100 cashback if you buy your life insurance this way.
