Interactive Investor* (ii), one if the UK's biggest investment platforms, has announced the launch of managed portfolios within its SIPP. The 10 risk-rated portfolios are available to new and existing SIPP customers from 17th November 2025. On its website, Interactive Investor states that 'The ii Personal Pension offers low-cost access to investments managed by experts at the Aberdeen Group. Once open, simply leave it to us. We'll check and rebalance your investments regularly, letting you plan your future with peace of mind'.
In this article, we explain how the managed portfolios work, the types of portfolios available and how much it costs to invest.
How do Interactive Investor's Managed SIPP portfolios work?
Customers wishing to invest in Interactive Investor's Managed SIPP portfolios first need to answer a few basic questions about how much they wish to invest and the level of investment risk they’re comfortable with. They will then be matched with one of its 10 managed investment portfolios, based on their savings goals and the level of risk they are comfortable with.
There is no minimum investment period, however, ii stresses that its Managed SIPP portfolios are designed for 'long-term growth', meaning investors should have an investment horizon of at least 5 years.
How much do the Interactive Investor Managed SIPP portfolios cost?
There isn't a separate management fee for the Interactive Investor Managed SIPP portfolios meaning they are available to all ii investors as part of the existing flat-fee subscription. As with any investment fund, investors will need to pay additional fund fees, market spread and variable transaction costs and these range from 0.13% to 0.36%.

How does it compare to Vanguard's Managed SIPP?
Interactive Investor's fee structure means that there are cheaper alternatives for those investing smaller sums or starting to invest in a SIPP for the first time. However, as Interactive Investor's subscription fee is flat, it becomes more competitive as you invest more and may be particularly cost-effective for those wishing to transfer the pension to a cheaper provider.
